Wainuiomata Water Walk
Monday 21 December 2026 at 9:00AM
Wainuiomata Community Hall
Event Description
Explore ancient forests and waterways on a guided walk in Wainuiomata Regional Park - delivered by Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC)
Join a special guided walk through beautiful native forest in Wainuiomata Regional Park, exploring areas not usually open to the public. Led by a knowledgeable park ranger, you’ll learn about the Wainuiomata water collection area and how this pristine water makes its way to Wellington’s taps.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of these limited capacity events, GWRC have decided that the fairest way to allocate bookings is via a ballot system. A ballot will open for registrations via the link below at 10am on Tuesday 24 November.
If you’ve attended before, please consider letting someone else experience this unique opportunity.
